A voice of the IT, Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is the representation of the world’s information technology industry. The roster of members includes forefront of innovation companies, and the professionals who maximize the investments of organizations in terms of technology. Comptia focuses on the growth of the IT industry through its market research, educational programs, professional certifications, networking events and policy advocacy. A membership with CompTIA means involvement with a community and its benefits from all facets of the IT Industry such as manufacturers, resellers, distributors, ISPs, solution providers, ASPs, e-commerce and telecom companies, software developers even non profit and government agencies. CompTIA also supports and addresses public policy issues covering court and before legislatures, agencies, media with focus on protection and advancement of interest for the technology community.

 

Issues such as privacy, antitrust, IT workforce, taxation/capital formation, procurement, etc, Support to IT workforce is a major priority at CompTIA It funds four programs such as the NITAS, Creating Futures, Tech Career Compass and the IT Merit Awards through the CompTIA Educational Foundation. In its endeavor to support the IT workforce, CompTIA has been serving the IT industry as the world’s biggest developer of vendor-neutral IT certification examinations. Millions had been issued a CompTIA certifications since the certification program establishment in 1993. The programs offered for certifications are PC hardware, servers, networking, e-Business, project managements, convergence, training, security, digital home technology, Linux, RFID and document imaging. A certification means a positive response from employers since IT companies nowadays know the importance of this certification. For them, this means when the workforce is CompTIA certified, there is always IT staff efficiency, IT staff retention, customer satisfaction, and almost zero system downtime. That is why many company nowadays sends their IT workforce for CompTIA trainings. To individuals, receiving a CompTIA certification gives you an edge among co-applicants in your job applications.
